Responsibilities
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and procedures
- Think creatively about how to optimize safety systems to benefit the individual employee
- Work directly with technician and engineering teams to develop best safety practices
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and develop corrective actions
- Provide EHS training and education to employees
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of EHS activities
- Function as state/local regulatory compliance liaison, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
- Manage environmental waste contracts and identify cost/offering improvements
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, promoting a safe and secure working environment
- Cultivate and maintain a strong safety culture at the Moses Lake Test Site
Qualifications
- 3+ years in a related role supporting high-performance, high-cadence operations, preferably aerospace
- Associate's degree or equivalent industry certifications
- Proven experience standing up and running EHS programs (OSHA, fall protection, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, job site safety, hazmat, and waste streams) and developing occupational safety programs
- Experience with common EHS field tools, including hazardous gas detectors, FLIR cameras, and sound meters
- Working knowledge of state and federal safety and environmental regulations
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of prioritizing and driving projects from planning through completion
- Able to lead and work autonomously, while also collaborating well on a high-performing team and incorporating feedback
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Valid WA driver's license; comfortable navigating a large, spread-out test site by vehicle or on foot
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted, stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
- Willing to relocate to Moses Lake, WA
