Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

Position Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, programs, and training initiatives.
Lead safety initiatives focused on hazard identification, injury prevention, and risk reduction.
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple locations.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations.
Maintain required safety documentation including OSHA logs, SDS records, and training records.
Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and injury case management in partnership with HR and Operations.
Develop and deliver safety training, including new hire onboarding and ongoing employee education.
Oversee environmental compliance including hazardous materials handling, waste management, and spill prevention.
Track and report safety metrics and partner with leadership to drive continuous safety improvements across the organization.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering.
• 3-7 years of EHS experience in distribution, manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA30regulations and safety management systems.
• Experience conducting audits, investigations, and employee training.
• Ability to travel regularly to distribution centers and branch locations.
• Professional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting multi-site operations.
• Forklift safety, hazardous materials, and DOT compliance experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
