ENV SVCS WKR/ HOUSEKEEPER

About the role

Responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and laundry tasks in accordance with established work routines and under the directions of the Environmental Service Manager. Performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the routine upkeep, maintenance and repair to the physical plant, building, grounds and equipment. These tasks are performed under the general direction of the Plant Operations Director. Responsible for working to achieve excellence in total facility appearance and within safety structures while performing all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine upkeep, maintenance and repair to the physical plant, building, grounds and equipment.
• Achieve excellence in total facility appearance while adhering to safety protocols.
• Daily disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
• Handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals in accordance with established safety regulations.
• Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
• Assist with housekeeping duties as necessary or assigned.
• Operate floor machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums, extraction equipment, washers, dryers, lawn mowers, gardening equipment, and other necessary equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and complete floor care at a medical facility, including carpeting, painting, masonry, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration, general mechanics, and gardening.

Requirements

• Valid HS Diploma/GED required.
• Previous Environmental Services / House Keeper experience in a medical environment required.
• Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition.
• Ability to read and implement written instructions and understand and implement oral instructions.
• Ability to stand, bend, walk, climb a 6-foot ladder, lift up to 75 pounds, and withstand physical strains from equipment use.
• Ability to measure proper solutions as related to specific tasks.
• Must have availability to attend an 8- to 10-business-day orientation from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. without interruptions.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of routine maintenance and complete floor care in a medical facility.
• Ability to operate required equipment safely and effectively.
