About the role

This role is within Winland Foods' Production Group, focusing on packaging operations to ensure product safety, efficiency, and quality. The position operates under a 2-2-3 schedule with additional overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Safe Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain packaging machinery, perform equipment changeovers, and address operational issues.
  • Product Handling, Quality Control & Inventory Management: Inspect products, perform manual packing and palletizing, follow FIFO inventory methods, and record shipments in SAP.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation Compliance: Adhere to GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and company food safety policies, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Team Collaboration, Leadership & Training: Assist team members, adapt to changes, contribute to productivity, safety, and quality goals, and provide training and feedback.
  • Documentation, Communication & Continuous Improvement: Accurately complete paperwork, report issues, record inventory transactions, and participate in 5S efforts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in manufacturing or food production, with forklift certification preferred (required for advanced level).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on production line equipment, including cartoners, baggers, case packers, sealers, depalletizers, and palletizers.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and other food safety regulations.
  • Physical demands: Stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs frequently, and perform tasks involving frequent climbing, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and stooping.

Qualifications

  • Technical & Mechanical Skills: Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on production line equipment, including cartoners, baggers, case packers, sealers, depalletizers, and palletizers.
  • Advanced levels: Demonstrate expert troubleshooting of high-speed packaging equipment and strong understanding of theory of operation, perform Winland Excellence CIL, centerlining, and line huddle activities to improve efficiency, and interpret line huddle measures to resolve issues.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of SAP, hand scanners, and basic math skills.
  • Physical Demands: Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, perform tasks involving frequent climbing, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and stooping, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.

Pay

$25.16 per hour plus a shift differential of a $1.00.

Schedule

2-2-3 schedule, with additional overtime based on production needs. Open hours include: 2nd Shift - 5:45pm to 6:00am.
