EngineeringFull-time

We have an immediate opening for a full-time, entry-level Materials Testing Technician based in our Londonderry, New Hampshire office. You will work on construction projects throughout New Hampshire and parts of Vermont and Massachusetts.

About the role

No prior experience is required—we will train you and pay you while you learn. You will typically work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work based on project needs. Expect early mornings, late evenings, and regular overtime during the construction season.

Most days, you will drive to construction sites to perform field tests on materials such as concrete, soil, aggregate, asphalt, grout, mortar, and steel. You will often be the only S.W. COLE team member on-site but will interact with personnel from other companies. The work can be physically demanding: lifting and carrying samples, walking through construction sites, or pushing a wheelbarrow. This work is performed year-round, and safety is a top priority. You will be provided with safety-toe boots and other necessary equipment to ensure your safety on job sites.

You will need to perform basic math, document observations and test results, and use a computer or tablet. Over time, you will learn to read and understand design plans and specifications. When not in the field, you will work in our laboratory or train for additional certifications.

Our core values are leadership, commitment, integrity, and quality. We work as a team with a passion for construction, focusing on delivering high-quality services to our clients while supporting each other’s professional growth.
