Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer
About the role
AECOM is hiring for an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in our North Charleston, SC office. This position is expected to start immediately.
Responsibilities
- Pump station evaluation and design.
- Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design.
- Sewer collection system evaluation and design.
- Afford assistance with plans, specifications, and permitting.
- Perform civil engineering modeling, design, and drafting work for engineers and project managers.
- Afford preparation/review of cost estimates, job budgets and schedules.
- Support preparation of final plans, reports, and calculations.
- Document project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files.
- Troubleshoots project related problems and provides engineering support.
- Afford assistance with resolution of construction issues and conducting site observations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite – specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD).
- Must be able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to travel on business periodically for periods of up to 2-3 days.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive rental vehicles on behalf of the company.
- Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary.
- Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months technical work experience in civil engineering or related field (e.g. summer internships, Co-Op).
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
