Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer

About the role

AECOM is hiring for an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in our North Charleston, SC office. This position is expected to start immediately.

Responsibilities

• Pump station evaluation and design.
• Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design.
• Sewer collection system evaluation and design.
• Afford assistance with plans, specifications, and permitting.
• Perform civil engineering modeling, design, and drafting work for engineers and project managers.
• Afford preparation/review of cost estimates, job budgets and schedules.
• Support preparation of final plans, reports, and calculations.
• Document project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files.
• Troubleshoots project related problems and provides engineering support.
• Afford assistance with resolution of construction issues and conducting site observations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite – specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD).
• Must be able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to travel on business periodically for periods of up to 2-3 days.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive rental vehicles on behalf of the company.
• Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary.
• Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months technical work experience in civil engineering or related field (e.g. summer internships, Co-Op).

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
