Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineer

About the role

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an entry-level engineer for our Jacksonville office. Our work includes planning, design, and oversight of construction of environmental infrastructure – for water, wastewater, and stormwater management.

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in preparing engineering deliverables, including sampling studies, condition assessments, process modeling, hydraulics, and design reports
• Work directly with senior level engineering team providing mentoring opportunities to learn and develop
• Manage data for process modeling and design
• Attend client and internal project management meetings
• Cook with manufacturers and vendors to select equipment
• Support multiple projects from planning through construction
• Conduct fieldwork and site visits (mostly in-state)

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering
• Strong interest in the water/wastewater industry
• Strong communication skills, self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• 0-2 years of relevant experience within the water/wastewater industry

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT certification
• M.S. in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering
