Within our Buildings Practice, LJB's structural engineers are widely recognized for their cost-efficient, high-performance designs, particularly in tilt-up construction and steel detailing. Essential Functions
- Ability to complete structural calculations for structural systems including superstructures, foundations, and floor slabs
- Assists with the preparation of construction documents needed for vertical building structures
- Coordinates with design staff to ensure accurate document and drawing production
- Communicates with the team and clients regarding project issues and attends meetings under the direction of a supervisor
- Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training
Additional Responsibilities
- Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency
- Ability to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team settings
- Occasionally visits work site, monitoring project progress and reports findings
- Ability to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a work site
- Occasional travel may be required
- Open to future growth of their position into a Project Manager role, if desired
Education
- Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering with structural emphasis required
- The ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license within four years is desired
Qualifications
- CAD experience (Revit and Bluebeam preferred)
- STRAP or other structural analysis software experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Pay
Annual Compensation: $76,000-110,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
