Entry-level Steel Detailer

Join a leading fabricator of structural steel joist and deck building systems, known for their specification and engineering expertise across North America. The Detailer role converts customer drawings into simple AutoCAD 2D plans, facilitating the manufacturing and delivery of the final product. This position supports production from multiple manufacturing plants and is based in Fort Wayne, IN.

Responsibilities

• Convert customer drawings into detailed plans using AutoCAD 2D.
• Create manufacturing plans and coordinate internal and external project delivery.
• Work on 5-6 projects simultaneously at various stages of completion.
• Utilize a proprietary AutoCAD 2D add-in (training provided).
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to solve problems and ensure project success.

Requirements

• Experience with AutoCAD drafting in construction, building design, or a related industry.
• Understanding of structural loads and connections for decking design.
• Familiarity with design approval processes and client/fabrication plant coordination.

Schedule

This is a fully onsite, Contract to Hire position based in Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay

$20.25 - $23.25/hr.
