Steel Detailer (Entry Level)

About the role

The Detailer role is crucial in converting customer drawings into simple AutoCAD 2D plans, facilitating the manufacturing and delivery of the final product. This position is based in Fort Wayne, IN, supporting production from multiple manufacturing plants. Join a leading fabricator of structural steel joist and deck building systems, known for their specification and engineering expertise across North America.

Responsibilities

• Convert customer drawings into detailed plans using AutoCAD 2D.
• Create manufacturing plans and coordinate internal and external project delivery.
• Work on 5-6 projects simultaneously at various stages of completion.
• Utilize a proprietary AutoCAD 2D add-in, with training provided.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to solve problems and ensure project success.

Essential Skills

• Experience with AutoCAD drafting in construction, building design, or a related industry.
• Understanding of structural loads and connections for decking design.
• Familiarity with design approval processes and client/fabrication plant coordination.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.25 - $23.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
