Entry Level Mortgage Loan Closer ($19.88/HR)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winchester, VA.

About the role

Close first mortgage loans in accordance with applicable federal/state laws as well as company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and problem solve system issues
• Prepare mortgage packages for delivery to Settlement companies
• Coordinate the closing and funding of assigned loan packages
• Monitor mortgage loan process and ensure compliance with laws, practices, guidelines, and regulations
• Verify completeness and accuracy of approved credit packages
• Determine amount to be withheld from loan proceeds, request and process internal payoffs, and prepare request for loan disbursement
• Ensure credit, underwriting, and property conditions have been satisfied prior to closing
• Maintain contact with lawyers, settlement agents, and real estate brokers regarding the status of closing package
• Prepare fully executed mortgage file for post-closing

Qualifications

• No prior mortgage or financial services experience is required – full paid training is provided
• High school diploma or equivalent is needed
• Must be proficient with basic office software
• Strong organizational skills, excellent multitasking abilities, and the ability to work well in a team environment
• Must be able to work effectively on their own with minimal supervision
• Basic understanding of the loan application and approval process, as well as strong interpersonal skills

Schedule

• Hybrid schedule: onsite 3 days per week, remote 2 days
• High-speed internet required
• Training hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST (first training, 3 fixed days per week onsite, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
• Bridge training: 4 weeks, starts the day after graduation from the first training class (3 fixed days per week onsite, typically Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday)
• Working hours: shifts will be assigned prior to the end of training and are subject to change; new hires will most likely start with one of the following shifts:
  • 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM EST
  • 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM EST
• Candidates must be open to all shift times

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.88 - $19.88/hr.
