Entry Level Mortgage Loan Closer ($19.88/HR)

About the role

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Martinsburg, WV.

Responsibilities

• Close first mortgage loans in accordance with applicable federal/state laws as well as company policies & procedures
• Research, analyze, and problem solve system issues
• Prepare mortgage packages for delivery to Settlement companies
• Coordinate the closing & funding of assigned loan packages
• Monitor mortgage loan process & ensure compliance with laws, practices, guidelines & regulations
• Verify completeness and accuracy of approved credit packages
• Determine amount to be withheld from loan proceeds, request and process internal payoffs and prepare request for loan disbursement
• Ensure credit, underwriting and property conditions have been satisfied prior to closing
• Maintain contact with lawyers, settlement agents and real estate brokers regarding the status of closing package
• Prepare fully executed mortgage file for post-closing

Qualifications

• No prior mortgage or financial services experience is required – Full paid training is provided
• High school diploma or equivalent is needed
• Must be proficient with basic office software
• Strong organizational skills, excellent multitasking abilities, and the ability to work well in a team environment with other officers to share important loan application data
• Must be able to work effectively on their own with minimal supervision
• Basic understanding of the loan application and approval process, as well as strong interpersonal skills

Schedule

• Hybrid Schedule – Onsite 3 days per week / Remote 2 days
• High Speed Internet required
• Training Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST, 1st Training: 3 fixed days per week onsite (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
• Bridge Training: 4 weeks, starts the day after graduation from the 1st training class, 3 fixed days per week onsite (typically Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday)
• Working Hours: Must be open to all shifts. Shifts will be assigned prior to training ending and are subject to change at any time. New hires will most likely be assigned one of the following shifts to start:
  • 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM EST
  • 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM EST
• Candidates will be assigned a shift schedule closer to the end of Bridge training and must be open to all shift times.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.88 - $19.88/hr.
