About the Role

As an Entry Level Machinist, you will perform basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations. You will also operate shear vise, tapping machine (manual and power), and understand different styles and types of taps and dies (metric and standard). Additionally, you will operate and understand power band saw, cut off saw, and complete required paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic drill press, lathe, milling machine, and grinding operations.
• Operate shear vise, tapping machine (manual and power), and understand different styles and types of taps and dies (metric and standard).
• Operate and understand power band saw, cut off saw, proper selection of speeds, feeds, tooth size, blade welding, guide setting, and blade replacement.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Operate and apply turning/plunge and form tools.
• Operate and understand power hand tools, grinders, drills, belt sanders, disc sanders, sand, and bead blasters.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED preferred, or demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English.
• Demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• At least one-year completion of an approved vocational program in Machine Technology or equivalent.
• Proficiency in general mathematics.
• Knowledge of machine shop gauges and machines.

Pay

Salary Range: $17.00–$20.00 per hour
