Entry Level Interior Designer

About the Role

Dewberry’s Architecture Team is seeking an energetic Entry Level Interior Designer with well-rounded experience to join our Orlando, FL office. Experience in Federal/Local Government, Commercial, and Corporate building types is desirable. This position requires a minimum of 1-year overall experience where you will develop and execute appropriate design solutions as well as participate in project team involvement regarding client satisfaction and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on single or multiple interiors projects under the supervision of a registered interior designer for all phases of design.
• Assist with generation and documentation of programmatic and visioning requirements.
• Develop and update space plan concepts.
• Select and coordinate FF&E, color palettes, material selections, furniture systems, and specifications.
• Assist project team with coordination of the drawings, specifications, and materials.
• Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and samples.
• Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Interior Design and/or Architecture degree from an accredited University.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in interior design with an Architecture/Interior Design Firm.
• Ability to obtain state license and a NCIDQ certificate.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), SketchUp, and other modeling programs.
• Proficient in Creative Adobe Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
• Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles; LEED AP or interest in obtaining LEED AP or Green Globes credentials is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A design portfolio demonstrating interior design experience will be required.
