Role Overview
We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Mechanical Technician to assume responsibilities for multiple Microgrid generators. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance on power generation equipment, electrical experience as a plus. The Microgrid Mechanical Technician will coordinate with Area Managers to ensure generators are maintained, serviced, and operate for customer requirements for on-demand electricity. The position is remote in the Midland/Odessa area and will report to the Area Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment.
- Be proficient at learning and utilizing manufacturer specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
- Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.
- Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
- Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
- Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.
- Follow company process and procedures for verbal/written communications.
- Utilize all current technology for communication, documentation, and research.
- Ensure Safe Operation of electrical equipment by enforcing company and industry standards.
- Safely prepare, operate, and maintain motor vehicles for the purpose of conducting company business.
Basic (Required) Qualifications
- Experience – at least 1 Years Mechanical and/or Electrical
- Education Level - preferred College or Equivalent Training (i.e. Military)
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport materials, equipment, or personnel to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Successfully pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to ensure compliance with company standards and safe driving practices.
- Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail.
- Computer skills- Uses computers, software applications, databases and automated systems to accomplish work.
- Flexibility-Technicians have a rotating on call schedule. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Must be able to be on your feet for multiple hours a day.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and lift 50 lbs safely.
- Integrity- Work efficiently and effectively when with or without supervision.

- Volvo Penta Diesel Engine experience
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
