Entry Level Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the design and creation of electrical infrastructure for mission-critical buildings and campuses, including medium voltage distribution systems.
  • Create highly redundant power systems, incorporating various redundancy topologies such as distributed and block redundant systems.
  • Incorporate on-site generation and UPS backup systems into the design.
  • Create typical building systems such as small power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems.
  • Review and comprehend client standards, design criteria, applicable codes, and best practices, and collaborate with senior engineers to ensure compliance.
  • Understand local and national construction codes and project specifications to broaden knowledge of the construction process.
  • Utilize Autodesk Revit on a daily basis to produce detailed design documents.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables.
  • Travel to project sites and/or meetings when required (less than 10% travel).
  • Communicate effectively with others in both written and spoken forms.
  • Execute delivery of specific design elements under the guidance of senior and mid-level engineers and designers.
  • Participate actively in training and mentoring opportunities to grow knowledge and capabilities.
  • Maintain excellent organizational skills, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • A 2 or 4-year degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology, or relevant experience.
  • Past internship, co-op, or work experience in consulting engineering roles is a plus.
  • Experience working in the construction industry is a plus.
  • Experience using Revit in either an educational or professional context is a plus.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.

Benefits

Base Compensation: $45,000-$150,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skills, and/or location)
