About the Role
As an Entry-Level DevOps Engineer, you will make an impact by supporting the automation, deployment, and operational reliability of software applications and cloud infrastructure. You will be a valued member of the TriZetto Provider Solutions technology team and work closely with software developers, QA engineers, cloud engineers, and senior DevOps professionals to improve application delivery, deployment consistency, system performance, and platform stability.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery.
- Assist with cloud infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, and environment management in Azure.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve release processes, monitoring, and operational reliability.
- Help troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure, and application issues to ensure timely releases and delivery commitments.
- Contribute to automation initiatives, infrastructure-as-code implementations, and containerized application environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Foundational software development knowledge gained through academic studies, internships, co-ops, or professional experience.
- Strong interest in DevOps, cloud technologies, automation, and modern software delivery practices.
- Basic understanding of Azure cloud services and cloud computing concepts.
- Familiarity with CI/CD principles and software release management processes.
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Skills
These will help you stand out:
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Experience building, supporting, or troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to .NET application development environments.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Chef.
- Experience resolving Azure deployment, infrastructure, or CI/CD-related issues.
- Exposure to developer platform technologies such as Backstage.io.
- Internship, project, or professional experience supporting cloud, automation, or DevOps initiatives.

Pay
The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $77,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
