Overview

Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Entry-Level Central Characterization Program (CCP) Site Project Manager (SPM) and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Entry-Level SPM, as detailed in the WIPP Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (HWFP), for the Central Characterization Program (CCP).
  • Ensure Transuranic (TRU) waste destined for WIPP meets the requirements of the WIPP Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC).
  • Proefficient at procedure/document generation and reviews, identification and disposition of non-conformances, scheduling, and performance tracking.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies including but not limited to the Department of Energy (DOE), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and New Mexico Environment Department (NMED).

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, etc.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience/Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is mandatory.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances.

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous WIPP experience.
