Entry Level Buyer

United Weld Holdings has an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Buyer to join our Procurement team, focusing on sourcing and procuring tubular steel products for pipe spooling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with suppliers.
• Develop new supply sources when needed.
• Negotiate lower costs with vendors.
• Measure and track internal performance and responsible spend.
• Approve purchase orders and invoices based on approval levels.
• Ensure proper documentation is sent from suppliers and all purchasing activities adhere to established policies and procedures.
• Monitor market forces that impact relevant negotiations or future purchases.
• Pursue cost reductions on a continuing basis.
• Work with vendors both on-site and off-site to maintain proper inventory levels, quality, and delivery for purchased items.
• Negotiate and maintain contract agreements for strategic commodities.
• Purchase and negotiate materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); preferred.
• 1 year of work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and intermediate knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of contracts and materials.
