What You Will Be Doing

  • Carry out 1:1 coaching sessions with student founders focusing on strategy, execution, and growth—approximately two-thirds of your time.
  • Analyze student dashboards, venture updates, and academic records to assess progress and clarify next steps.
  • Track academic performance and intervene early when necessary, addressing issues such as attention or organizational skills.
  • Create and deliver workshops with tangible, applied-learning outcomes.
  • Organize stand-ups, debriefs, and group check-ins to reinforce student accountability to their own objectives.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Give lectures or adhere to a fixed curriculum (you enable applied learning, not traditional classroom teaching).
  • Offer general mentorship or motivational speeches without concrete follow-up actions.
  • Handle student operations such as scheduling, documentation, or enrollment tasks.
  • Attend lengthy faculty meetings or manage institutional red tape (your focus remains on direct student impact).

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide student founders toward ventures with $1M potential while ensuring they maintain strong academic standing.

Basic Requirements

  • Willing to work on-site at Alpha High School in Austin, TX (relocation assistance provided).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience coaching or developing others (direct reports, colleagues, or clients), including a concrete example of a coaching engagement and its measurable results.
  • Professional background owning critical outcomes or performance metrics, with at least one example showing $500,000+ in annual revenue impact.
  • At least 1 year working directly with young people (students, junior professionals, or youth program participants) on projects, developmental goals, or entrepreneurial initiatives.
  • Authorized to work legally in the United States.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Personal experience founding, co-founding, or running a startup or early-stage venture.
  • Background as a Chief of Staff, program manager, or high-impact individual contributor with full ownership of end-to-end outcomes.
  • Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to enhance coaching preparation, data analysis, or communication workflows.
  • Experience in K-12 education, EdTech, or programs that integrate academics with practical application (such as accelerators, project-based curricula, or entrepreneurship initiatives).
