About the Role

The best way to support a teenage entrepreneur is to hold them to a standard they didn't know they could meet. High expectations aren't stress — they're a signal that you believe in their capacity. You'll work with high school students running genuine businesses with $1M upside. These aren't academic exercises or mock ventures.

Roughly 60-65% of your week goes to 1:1 coaching: pinpointing where a founder is blocked, surfacing the most critical next step, and ensuring follow-through on a concrete plan. The remaining 35-40% divides between tracking academic performance and running skill-building workshops that equip students with tools, not theory.

This isn't a traditional teaching position. You're accountable for the whole picture: business traction, academic success, and founder development. You'll rely on dashboards, progress reports, and academic records to coach strategically, not by gut. If a student's grades begin to slide, you step in early. If a venture plateaus, you surface the underlying issue, not the easy diagnosis.

The payoff is seeing a 16-year-old arrive with a concept and leave with a live business, the rigor to sustain it, and academic performance that preserves every future option.

Responsibilities

• Conducting 1:1 coaching sessions with student founders on strategy, execution, and scaling — approximately two-thirds of your time
• Reviewing student dashboards, business metrics, and academic performance data to identify blockers and prioritize actions
• Tracking academic standing and proactively addressing issues related to focus or time management
• Designing and delivering workshops centered on practical skill application
• Facilitating stand-ups, retrospectives, and group check-ins that hold students accountable to commitments
• Guide student founders to build ventures with $1M potential while maintaining strong academic performance

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Teaching from a fixed syllabus or delivering traditional lectures (you guide applied learning, not classroom instruction)
• Offering general mentorship or motivational coaching without structured action plans
• Handling administrative duties such as scheduling, forms, or enrollment coordination
• Attending faculty meetings or navigating institutional processes (your focus remains on student outcomes)

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Available to work on-site at Alpha High School in Austin, TX (relocation assistance provided)
• Minimum 2 years of experience coaching or developing others (team members, peers, or clients), with a concrete example of a coaching engagement and its results
• Professional track record of owning critical outcomes or metrics, including at least one instance of driving $500,000+ in annual revenue impact
• At least 1 year working directly with young people (students, junior professionals, or youth program participants) on initiatives, skill development, or entrepreneurial projects
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Direct experience founding, co-founding, or running a startup or early-stage venture
• Background as a Chief of Staff, program manager, or high-impact individual contributor with end-to-end ownership of results
• Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) for coaching preparation, data analysis, or student communication
• Experience in K-12 education, EdTech, or hybrid programs that combine academics with hands-on entrepreneurship, project-based learning, or startup accelerators
