About the role
Erias Ventures seeks a Cloud Platform Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on innovative solutions for complex mission problems. The ideal candidate is a strong systems integrator with experience in AWS, Go, and Linux.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy infrastructure in AWS
- Implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications
- Work autonomously to identify and solve problems quickly while contributing to broader strategic goals
- Contribute to the development of custom software components and integration of open-source code
- Collaborate with Architects on the team to address complex problems using cutting-edge Big Data/Cloud technology
- Work in a hybrid environment with an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office
Requirements
- At least 9 years of experience in Platform Engineering or Software Development (Go)
- Bachelor's degree in related field or 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in related field
- Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS
- Experience with Kubernetes (or vendor flavor of Kubernetes), Ansible, storage layers (Ceph, Rook, Longhorn, etc.)
- Programming skills in languages like Go
- A solid understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, applications, and proficiency in shell scripting
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 1-2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office
Qualifications
- Current U.S. Government Security clearance is not required at start, but will be processed for a Secret level clearance; U.S. citizenship required
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience
Skills
- Experience with infrastructure as code and modern tools to define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud
- Prior experience or familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or other Big Data systems (e.g. Cloudera’s Distribution of Hadoop, Hortonworks Data Platform, MapR, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Gitlab-CI, Travis-CI, Jenkins, etc.)
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies and use of standard software development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Gitlab, etc.)
- Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Maven, virtualization (Ovirt, Proxmox, VMware, etc.)

Pay
The expected salary range for this position, depending on education and years of experience, is $150,000 - $265,000.
