Responsibilities

• Manage projects and service assignments for the Field Service Department in the assigned area.
• Act as direct liaison between BearCom technicians and Motorola or end customers.
• Prepare quotes, bids, and schedules with customers for installation and repair tasks.
• Organize and schedule upcoming field work.
• Provide technical support in field operations and verify functioning of newly installed equipment.
• Install, maintain, and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems), mobile/portable radios, dispatch consoles, and microwave systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment problems.
• Oversee installation of communications hardware such as base stations, repeaters, mobile and portable devices, wireless broadband devices, and CCTV equipment.
• Analyze diagnostic test results to repair and program radios and wireless equipment.
• Deliver and execute customer Functional Acceptance Test Plans (FATP) and document site surveys and assessments.
• Make minor electronic circuitry modifications and deploy factory software/firmware updates.
• Train and coach field service technicians and installers.
• Travel up to 25 % of the time and be on‑call as required.
• Assist with additional projects as assigned.
• Adhere to safety standards outlined in the BearCom Injury and Illness Prevention Program and develop safe work practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in technical management within the wireless industry or a closely related field.
• Experience developing, qualifying, and directing new business opportunities through customer interface and requirements gathering.
• Knowledge of and experience with a network of vendor resources.
• Proven ability to manage complex project implementations.
• Understanding of business practices with P&L responsibility.
• Excellent customer relationship skills.
• Extensive knowledge of two‑way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics across frequency bands, and communications systems.
• Technical leadership experience with multiple two‑way radio technologies and wireless solutions.
• Appropriate degree from an accredited college or equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and specialized training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Security clearance is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance; background checks, including motor vehicle check, are required.
• Ability to conduct on‑site evaluations, walking up to a mile on uneven surfaces.
• Occasional lifting and moving of equipment or materials up to 25 lb.
