Qualifications
MD, PhD, or equivalent clinical or laboratory leadership background
Active clinical licensure and practice
Experience in clinical informatics and workflow optimization
Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
Strong understanding of pathology and laboratory workflows across care settings
Experience with stakeholder engagement, governance, and change management
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Epic informatics lead for Clinical and Anatomic Pathology workflows across ambulatory settings
- Maintain alignment of Epic solutions with clinical best practices, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain awareness of Epic capabilities, system updates, and future roadmap
- Lead the design, standardization, and continuous improvement of end-to-end pathology workflows
- Design and optimize complex and specialty workflows
- Translate clinical, operational, and regulatory needs into clearly defined functional and technical requirements
- Standardize workflows across sites while accommodating necessary clinical variation
- Identify and mitigate safety risks, inefficiencies, and workflow fragmentation
- Partner with the CMIO, pathology leadership, and digital teams to define enterprise strategy for pathology informatics, establish governance and prioritization frameworks, and develop a multi-year roadmap aligned with organizational goals
- Engage stakeholders across clinicians, lab leadership, operations, and IT to build strong relationships and drive consensus
- Lead change management efforts and partner with training teams to support adoption
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and design/build sessions
- Collaborate closely with Epic application teams and digital portfolio leadership to ensure delivery of scalable, reliable, and sustainable solutions
- Use data and analytics to evaluate workflow performance and outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement in lab and clinical workflows
- Stay current on emerging best practices in clinical informatics and digital health
- Collaborate across enterprise clinical and digital domains
- Contribute to informatics education, innovation, and professional development
- Mentor and support informatics team members
Required Experience
- Epic experience (Beaker or related modules); certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Board certification or eligibility in Clinical Informatics (for physicians)
