Enterprise Developer
About the role
Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Enterprise Application Services, the incumbent is responsible for the analysis, design, development/upgrading, documentation, Q/A, testing, and operational support/maintenance of university software applications and systems. This includes working independently on assigned tasks in close collaboration with other IT team members and stakeholders to address the needs of the university.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, and modifies software components, modules, and interfaces to systems, applications, and databases for existing and third-party software.
- Collaborates with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand desired functionality and performance.
- Function in a team to implement new features in existing systems, and build new applications and services by designing and developing customer-based solutions and products utilizing enterprise development tools.
- Works with IT Team and various departments capturing and documenting department requirements for large and small projects, in order to design appropriate solutions.
- Provides recommendations for process and application improvements utilizing best practices for organization staff and data management.
- Performs application-level system administration, upgrades, and integrations.
- Consults with various technical teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues with existing applications and development.
- Performs unit and integration testing and assist with end user testing.
- Gathers feedback, troubleshoots, and debugs software issues, and provides timely resolution.
- Collaborates with IT and cross-functional/technical teams in requirements gathering, planning, coordination and implementation of new campus systems and projects.
Requirements
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft tools, technology and architecture.
- Experience with deploying/customizing 3rd party add-ons and managed packages.
- Experience with custom integrations using APIs.
- Project management skills and experience driving programs independently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, in addition to the required experience.
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to write code and troubleshoot software application system issues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive data and information.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills to plan, organize, document, and manage multiple projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present technical information to technically diverse audience in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate user and business needs/programs and design, develop, and implement solutions.
- Proficiency in using applicable software and programming languages.
- Computer skills to appropriately troubleshoot and alter systems as required.
