About the role

The Enterprise Architect will lead the visioning, planning, and directional execution of our technology strategy and ensure alignment with OU Health business goals. This role requires a deep understanding of current and emerging technologies, a strategic mindset, and the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire technology professionals while establishing credibility with business leaders across the enterprise. The Enterprise Architect will ensure the organization stays current with healthcare and broader technology trends, collaborating with technology teams and business leaders to inform cost-effective designs and execution strategies. This role fosters agility, innovation, and efficiency in implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive, long-term technology vision that recognizes legacy realities and supports a flexible future, aligned with business goals and external influences.
  • Guide and mentor a diverse team of technology professionals to foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and improvement.
  • Establish and administer technology standards and best practices to ensure enterprise-wide consistency, quality, and compliance with security, regulatory, and audit requirements.
  • Lead the adoption and maintenance of architectural frameworks that support efficient, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies and processes to enhance organizational capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Project Management teams to incorporate best practice processes continually.
  • Lead enterprise-level strategy for cloud platforms (Azure, M365), infrastructure modernization, and integration architecture.
  • Drive adoption of innovative technologies and frameworks that enhance business agility, data insights, and security posture.
  • Promote consistent use of enterprise tools, integration patterns, and design frameworks across all divisions and managed practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain competitive advantage and operational excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in engineering enterprise IT platforms.

Skills

  • In-depth understanding of Infrastructure, Network, and System Engineering in healthcare (preferred).
  • Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT, and predictive analytics.
  • Insight into information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA/ITIL frameworks.
  • Awareness of existing, new, and emerging technologies and processing environments.
  • Effective leadership skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity and ability to incorporate it into architecture design.
  • Strong foundation in data management as a function of architecture design and implementation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing technology and governance initiatives across diverse teams and ecosystems.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of technology and business stakeholders.
  • Proven experience leading technology strategies in complex organizations with diverse products and customers.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to assess challenges and propose innovative technical solutions.
  • Expertise in tools like ArchiMate, Visio, and Lucidchart.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates.
  • Ability to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
  • Skill in managing complex IT environments and security requirements.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide development teams, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skill in managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and delivering high-quality solutions within deadlines.
  • Familiarity with integrated delivery systems in multi-site academic health environments.
  • Proven expertise in designing and deploying cloud solutions.
  • Proven track record leading technical teams and architecture decisions on large-scale projects.
