About the Role

Under the leadership of the Manager Business Insights, the Senior Outcomes Specialist Sr. is responsible for evaluating internal clinical programs and developing predictive models to guide evidence-based population health management practices. This team conducts advanced statistical analyses and develops predictive models based on complex operational, economic, and statistical data to quantify competitive performance, calculate return on investment (ROI), evaluate potential operational changes, and design new approaches and methodologies. Prepare and present evaluation results in a manner accepted by a diverse group of stakeholders.

This is a remote role requiring access to a reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Associates residing in states where service is required by contract, law, or regulation may submit for reimbursement.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM EST to 5:00 PM EST

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought leader for technical business processes, developing forward-thinking prototypes that promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.
  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting appropriate methods and tools within the defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and anomalies through analysis of complex data sets.
  • Lead in designing new approaches and methodologies.
  • Calculate return on investment (ROI) and evaluate potential operational changes.
  • Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to operational systems.
  • Collaborate across multiple corporate areas to understand workflows, document processes, and ensure the highest quality product delivery.
  • Work on a fast-paced team with minimal direction, focusing on understanding the application/product/area in detail while delivering high-quality outputs and actionable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applied statistics, computer science, mathematics, epidemiology, sociology, or economics. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in outcomes analyses and predictive modeling design and implementation in the healthcare field.
  • Knowledge of relevant statistical analyses and methodologies, including but not limited to generalized linear regression, logistic regression analysis, repeated measure analysis, survival analysis, cluster analysis, time-series analysis, decision trees, neural networks, and other machine learning techniques.
  • Knowledge and skill in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to measure and improve organizational productivity.
  • Knowledge of external public data such as data from CMS, census, CDC, AHRQ, etc., is a plus.
  • Healthcare publication experience with reputable journals.
  • Strong working knowledge of data visualization and geographic data analysis tools such as Tableau and ArcGIS.
  • Advanced proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency with pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience.
  • Advanced organizational, technical, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Advanced technical writing skills in business requirements, queries, reports, and presentations.
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, and statistical analysis tools such as SAS EG, SAS Enterprise Miner, or R, with the ability to learn other analytic tools.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with experience collecting, organizing, mining, analyzing, visualizing, and disseminating abundant information with utmost accuracy and presentation.
  • Efficiently manage time based on continual evaluation of priorities, meet deadlines with high-quality deliverables reflecting a complete understanding of expectations, and ability to multi-task.
