About the role

The Enterprise AI Operations Lead will serve as the technical foundation behind a growing enterprise AI ecosystem, ensuring AI platforms, tools, and governance frameworks operate effectively at scale. This role combines hands-on administration, AI operations, security awareness, and data governance to support responsible adoption across the organization. You will manage enterprise AI environments, oversee integrations, optimize usage and costs, and help teams maximize the value of emerging technologies. Working closely with IT, Security, Compliance, Engineering, and AI enablement stakeholders, you will shape how AI is deployed and governed. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex operational challenges, building scalable processes, and balancing innovation with risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Administer enterprise AI deployments across conversational AI platforms and coding assistants, including user provisioning, permissions, workspace configuration, and integration management.
  • Configure and maintain AI tooling guardrails, including managed settings, permission controls, approved and restricted tools, and policy enforcement across developer environments.
  • Govern AI connectors, extensions, integrations, and tool requests by evaluating security, compliance, and data-handling considerations through established approval processes.
  • Manage internal AI knowledge sources used for retrieval, including intake processes, trust classification, source inventories, freshness monitoring, and access controls.
  • Partner with Legal, Security, and Data Privacy teams to review regulated data risks and ensure responsible AI usage practices.
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards tracking AI adoption, active users, licensing utilization, spending trends, and operational performance.
  • Monitor AI platform costs, token consumption, and usage patterns while identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze adoption metrics and provide leadership with insights into AI performance, risks, opportunities, and governance maturity.
  • Support security and compliance activities through audit preparation, access reviews, documentation, vendor coordination, and governance evidence management.
  • Monitor AI usage for policy exceptions, unusual behaviors, and potential risks while collaborating with relevant teams on mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, technical operations, or related technology roles.
  • Demonstrated experience applying governance, risk management, or compliance principles within enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience administering enterprise SaaS platforms, including user management, SSO/SCIM configuration, permissions, and audit log reviews.
  • Hands-on experience creating and maintaining BI dashboards and recurring operational reports using Looker or similar analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools and agentic AI platforms, including permission models, autonomous workflows, and associated risks.
  • Understanding of AI retrieval concepts such as RAG, connectors, knowledge bases, source governance, and access control considerations.
  • Ability to manage AI governance frameworks focused on security, compliance, data protection, and responsible adoption.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret usage data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-evolving technology landscape.
