About the role

This is a build-the-motion role. You'll be our first dedicated government seller, with anational US territory — the whole map, no fences — owning your number and shaping how we win government from the ground up.

Requirements

  • You've sold software to building & planning departments — or zero points.
  • You've carried a SaaS/software quota selling to building officials, planning officials, and planning/permitting departments, and you know how those buyers think, budget, and buy. Adjacent gov tech is not the same thing. This is the requirement we won't flex on.
  • Tech-savvy — or zero points. You run your own demos confidently, learn a product deeply and fast, and use AI tooling daily to out-run bigger teams. If you need a solutions engineer on every call, this isn't your role.
  • A hunter — call first, email second. You're not worried about just speaking to people: you pick up the phone, reach out cold, and book the demo. You'd rather make ten calls than perfect one email. High activity, pipeline built from nothing
  • You arrive knowing what to do. No playbook hand-holding, no waiting for instruction— you look at the territory, decide the plan, and start executing week one. Strategic on the fly; you adjust in the moment and don't over-think. Your obsession is pipeline and opportunity identification
  • Public-sector fluent. You've hit a complex, multi-stakeholder government quota and you know how public money actually moves — RFPs / RFIs, cooperative contracts, sole-source thresholds, and fiscal-year cycles
  • Mature in the room, hungry on the field. Credible and composed with commissioners and city managers — and still the person who'll build the tracker themselves, run the outbound, and own the number
  • Ethically sharp. You understand revolving-door rules and keep any recruited ex-officials to warm intros and credibility — never active involvement in procurements they're conflicted on

Nice to have

  • An existing government network (retired building / planning officials, chief building officials)
  • Familiarity with HUD or housing-agency funding
  • Prior first-sales-hire / 0-to-1 GTM experience

Benefits

  • Annual base salary + uncapped commissions
  • Remote, US-based, with travel to conferences and jurisdictions
