Techjays helps companies reimagine themselves with AI—from strategy and consulting through hands-on engineering delivery. We build AI-powered systems, extend client engineering teams with dedicated AI talent, and help organizations move faster than the market around them. We’re growing quickly and building a sales organization that is disciplined, high-trust, and focused on solving the customer’s actual business problem—not simply closing the deal.

About the Role

We’re hiring our first dedicated Account Executive to own complex sales opportunities from qualified executive handoff through signed contract. Our CEO currently leads initial executive conversations and has built a growing pipeline of qualified opportunities. You will take ownership after that initial qualification, establish the buying process, and move each opportunity deliberately toward a decision.

This is a complex closing role—not a scripted SDR position or a transactional SaaS AE seat. Our buyers include CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs, and other senior leaders at companies making meaningful investments in AI transformation. Deals commonly involve multiple stakeholders, customized solutions, and sales cycles of three to six months or longer. You’ll need to be as comfortable across the table from a CEO as you are navigating the operational and technical teams they bring into the process.

As the sales organization develops, the scope of the role will expand. You will have the opportunity to take greater ownership of initial qualification and executive discovery conversations, helping shape how TechJays identifies, develops, and advances high-potential opportunities from the first interaction. Over time, you will also be responsible for converting opportunities across both inbound and outbound channels, supported by a rapidly growing SDR organization generating and qualifying new business conversations.

Responsibilities

  • Own opportunities from qualified executive handoff through signed contract.
  • Run structured, consultative sales conversations, including discovery, solution alignment, proof-of-concept coordination, proposal delivery, negotiation, and close.
  • Establish clear mutual action plans and buying processes for complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities.
  • Manage a live pipeline with discipline, including accurate CRM management, weekly forecasting, and consistent follow-up across multi-month sales cycles.
  • Navigate multi-threaded buying committees, understanding where influence and decision-making authority actually sit.
  • Know when to reengage the CEO or another executive sponsor to remove a blocker and when to work directly with the operational champion.
  • Partner closely with leadership, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure that what is sold is both valuable to the client and realistically deliverable.
  • Develop opportunities generated through inbound, outbound, executive, partnership, and SDR-supported channels.
  • Progressively take ownership of initial qualification and executive discovery conversations as the sales organization scales.
  • Help shape the sales playbook as our first dedicated Account Executive. Your fingerprints will be on how TechJays sells, forecasts, and develops talent as the team grows.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of full-cycle B2B closing experience, or a comparable track record closing complex, six-figure technology, consulting, or professional-services engagements.
  • Demonstrated success selling through multi-month sales cycles involving executive buyers, multiple stakeholders, procurement, legal, technical evaluation, and operational decision-makers.
  • Experience closing deals in the low-to-mid six figures, with the judgment required to manage customized, non-transactional opportunities.
  • A track record of selling to and building trust with C-suite buyers. You can hold your own in a room with a CEO while earning credibility with the team responsible for implementation.
  • Cross-industry sales versatility, with experience selling into diverse verticals such as construction, manufacturing, technology, professional services, and more.
  • The ability to quickly understand how a business operates and translate its challenges into a credible business and technology case.
  • Comfort adapting your pitch, tone, discovery process, and value framing across buyer personas, including CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and CIOs.
  • Strong political instincts. You can recognize where influence, urgency, resistance, and decision-making authority actually sit inside an organization and adjust your approach as the deal develops.
  • Strong discovery and objection-handling skills. You can uncover the real source of skepticism and reframe the conversation through insight, credibility, and business value rather than relying on a script.
  • Comfort operating within a fast-moving and evolving sales organization. The foundation is being built, but the playbook will continue to improve.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and technology, with enough fluency to maintain credibility with technical buyers without needing to be the engineer in the room.
  • Self-direction and strong operating discipline. You manage your pipeline proactively, maintain clean data, forecast honestly, and engage productively in structured pipeline reviews.
  • Coachability, accountability, and the ability to adapt as the role expands across inbound, outbound, qualification, and executive discovery responsibilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience helping an early-stage or growth-stage company formalize and scale an evolving enterprise sales motion.
  • Background in professional services, consulting, AI, software development, or technical and engineering services sales.
  • Experience selling into industrial, manufacturing, construction, HVAC, or other operationally complex verticals.
  • Experience working with SDR teams and converting both inbound and outbound qualified opportunities.
  • Experience helping develop sales processes, qualification frameworks, forecasting standards, or AE playbooks.

Pay

$150-200,000 base salary range plus $300-400,000 in target annual incentive compensation, for total on-target earnings of $450-600,000. Commissions are uncapped, with accelerators above quota and additional incentive credit for self-sourced new business. The role includes a reduced ramp quota during the initial ramp period.
