About the role
The Enrollment Specialist for the Oxford Campus assists in recruiting new students for admission and guides them through the enrollment process. This role involves implementing comprehensive recruiting and enrollment efforts, providing accurate information through presentations to high school and community groups, and serving as a liaison between the college and local high schools and the community. The Enrollment Specialist is the initial point of contact for all prospective students at the Oxford Campus.
Responsibilities
- Recruit new students for admission through visits to schools, local businesses, industries, and community groups.
- Assist with the operation of the Recruiting Office, including supervising student recruiters, conducting campus tours, and meeting with prospective students and parents.
- Assist with the operation of the Admissions and Records Office, including completing potential students’ records, assisting in registration and orientation, and participating in commencement ceremonies.
- Promote the college by traveling to high schools, local businesses, industries, and community groups to make individual and group presentations.
- Use social media to stay in touch with potential students and assist with the scholarship program.
- Utilize a CRM to guide prospective students through the enrollment management process.
- Assist with the development and implementation of the comprehensive recruiting plan and strategic enrollment management plan.
- Process student documents for admission, answer admission and enrollment questions, and communicate applicants' status within the enrollment process.
- Ensure all records are maintained and in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Answer general questions about financial aid, provide information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and assist students with FAFSA completion.
- Work with the Financial Aid Office and Get2College to present workshops.
- Assist with orientation and registration of new students.
- Assist in commencement ceremonies.
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
- Research and embrace new technologies in student recruiting methods, including staying up to date with social media for contacting potential students.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the Director of Recruiting, Registrar, and Student Services manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in recruiting new students and familiarity with the community college environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a college vehicle.
- Skills in current recruiting technology and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitter, etc.).
- Proficiency in both Mac and PC computer formats preferred.
- Ability to carry recruiting materials modest distances and travel daily, including nights and weekends.
- Energetic, outgoing, and excellent communication skills.
