About the role
The LTSS Operations team is seeking a contractor to perform Enrollment Specialist‑level work for TennCare members. With the rollout of the new eligibility system PERLSS, the enrollment team requires additional support to manage increased workload, monitor and report defects, drive process improvements, and handle subsequent implementation phases. As the Public Health Emergency ends, the team will also resume Medicaid redeterminations, requiring close coordination with MCOs, nursing facilities, DIDD, and other state partners to ensure members retain eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Month 1: Complete new‑hire onboarding, receive training, and shadow team members.
- Month 2: Begin independent work with supervisor oversight, handling enrollment and disenrollment tasks, transcribing approved PASRR determinations into the TMED system, and assisting with redetermination processes; attend weekly check‑ins.
- Months 4‑10: Operate fully independently on enrollment duties, generate required reports for the supervisor, and maintain ongoing support for the team.
- Months 9‑10: Collaborate with the supervisor to develop a transition plan for completing or handing off eligibility system implementation tasks.
- Months 11‑12: Work with the enrollment team to transition responsibilities back to staff, finalize outstanding tasks, and create a transition plan that minimizes gaps and ensures compliance with rules and timelines.
