About the role

As the initial point of contact for the enrollment function of the agency, the Enrollment Coordinator will effectively assess and triage callers' needs to the appropriate source. This position requires excellent customer service skills to ensure a prompt, kind, and helpful experience for every caller. The role supports Care Design NY (a Care Coordination / Health Home) and Partners Health Plan (a Managed Care Organization), dedicated to providing supports and services for persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of contact for individuals and families calling to inquire about entry into services.
  • Gather initial information from the caller and assess whether the referral should be directed to a regional Enrollment Specialist or if a different service type is appropriate.
  • Enter initial demographic data into the enrollment platform; mail or email an enrollment packet specific to the Enrollment Specialist’s region for new inquiries.
  • Support the Enrollment Specialist by making engagement calls to ensure families follow through on sending required documents for the enrollment process.
  • Log call activity and notify regional Enrollment Specialists of individuals coming onto their queue.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge about OPWDD services and processes, as well as other service systems and community support in general.
  • Maintain a positive and helpful demeanor as the initial point of contact for individuals and families.
  • Spend most of the day on the phone and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with people with I/DD (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written communication, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Benefits

  • $3,000 tuition reimbursement per calendar year.
  • Up to $250 for professional development courses.

Pay

$28–$32 per hour.
