About the role

The Robinson Center for Young Scholars seeks instructors to develop and teach enrichment courses through the 2026-2027 Enrichment Saturday Program for students currently in grades K-8. The courses are offered during the 2026-2027 school year on Saturday mornings at the University of Washington, Seattle campus.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Learning: Planning, Instruction & Assessment (85%)

  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment for a diverse population of students

  • Designing and/or developing the course curriculum for the year with the advice of the Program Manager for Teaching and Learning

  • Preparing and delivering on time all course materials, including but not limited to course guide, class activities, lesson plans, and supply lists

  • Preparing and delivering classroom instruction

  • Collaborating with student support staff to communicate with families and appropriately support student needs

  • Creating and implementing appropriate differentiation and adaptations to support student engagement with the support of the Enrichment Admin team

  • Other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least four years of professional experience

  • Able to attend all class sessions and staff orientation for the 2026-2027 season

  • Experience working with K-8 youth

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching K-8 students

  • Experience working with neurodiverse and highly motivated learners

  • Experience delivering engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate lessons to K-8 students

  • Experience working and teaching in a lab setting

  • Experience developing K-8 curriculum

  • Proficient in effective and student-centered communication

  • Subject matter expertise
