About the role
The English Language Learner (ELL) Coordinator supports the multilingual learners program across Discovery Health Sciences Schools' charter network. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Louisiana teaching certificate with an ESL endorsement.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate ELL services across the network
- Serve as the direct EL student support at Kenner Discovery High School and Middle School
- Deliver English Language lessons during small group instruction
- Conduct and collect Home Language Surveys
- Collaborate with teachers and Curriculum Division Heads
- Provide push-in classroom support
- Prepare students for the ELPT assessment
- Assist with administration of the ELPT assessment
- Complete accommodation paperwork prior to LEAP assessment
Requirements
Valid Louisiana teaching certificate with an ESL endorsement.
Qualifications
Experience in supporting English Language Learners preferred.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
