About the role
Southern University at Shreveport is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and motivated engineering technology professional to teach courses in the relevant discipline as an adjunct faculty member at the Shreveport campus.
Responsibilities
- Teach regular, online and hybrid courses including lab sessions.
- Design and deliver the course in a way that ensures accomplishing course objectives/outcomes.
- Use the university approved syllabus template for all courses.
- Post the course syllabus in the learning management system before the first class or the first day of the semester for online sections.

- Keep up-to-date with, and effectively use technology and media in the classroom.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ethics.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement: Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology relevant to the field of instruction.
- Desired requirement: Master's degree in Engineering, relative to the field of instruction, or four years’ experience in the Engineering Technology respective discipline.
- Successful teaching experience in lecture-based environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to work in an accelerated and traditional learning format.
- Previous work experience in engineering field.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ethics.

$4,000 for first 3 credits and $2,500 per 3 credit hours thereafter
