This classification represents the third level of a degreed technical role for non-engineering personnel. The Engineering Technologist III provides technical expertise to resolve complex issues and applies leadership capabilities to oversee and direct work within a defined area of expertise, with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for major projects within the Triad Zone, including distribution system upgrades from the substation to the customer
- Coordinate with engineering firms, customers, contractors, and management
- Participate in field visits and customer meetings
- Utilize Maximo and BOUD systems
- Support storm response efforts locally or in other designated locations as required
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise
- Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
- Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
- Conduct engineering and related studies
- Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
- Maintain accurate records and files
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of relevant industry experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or a minimum of six years of equivalent experience without a degree
- Direct experience in electric distribution
