Engineering Technician V

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician V to join our team in Norfolk, VA. Responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and making design recommendations for electrical and electronic equipment, including reading blueprints, interpreting technical instructions, and ensuring compliance with naval procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform shipboard tag-out procedures
• Maintain safety standards
• Disassemble and inspect electrical systems
• Utilize electrical measuring instruments
• Cable and wire way fabrication
• Understand electrical systems such as switchboards, controls, and distribution panels

Qualifications

• US Citizenship
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Extensive experience (5+ years) in Navy HM&E systems

Skills

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings
• Proficiency with electronic measurement tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Own tools
• Physically capable of handling up to 50 pounds

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel
• Pass drug screening
• Perform physical tasks in confined spaces
