Job Summary
About the role
The Oceanographic Systems Lab (OSL) at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is seeking an Engineer Technician (REMUS Senior Engineering Assistant I) to support the development and operations of REMUS autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct operational and technical engineering support for REMUS AUVs.
- Maintain and test vehicle systems, implement engineering changes or upgrades.
- Lead vehicle operations at sea, including mission programming, pre-mission checkout, vehicle tracking, and post-mission analysis.
- Document and communicate field work results to enhance operational procedures and reporting.
- Work cooperatively with science and military users to define and obtain AUV use objectives.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a specialized field.
- Exceptional performance and reliable task completion.
- Valuable long-term experience at the Institution.
- REMS operator experience is mandatory.
