Responsibilities

  • Conducts continuous improvement activities to reduce the potential for product defects.
  • Involved with problem identification, containment activities, action plan development and execution.
  • Ensures that the test requirements for product testing and processes are defined and met.
  • Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures.
  • Performs tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for stated criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO 17025 and Laboratory Scope of Operations.
  • Uses various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices.
  • Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements.
  • Assists in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications.
  • Supports manufacturing through troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain test-related documentation in, and support administration of, database environment.
  • Prepare formal and informal test reports.
  • Aid with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 10 Years of relevant work experience

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk and hear;
  • Regularly required to stand and walk;
  • Occasionally required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders;
  • Occasionally lifts up to 25 - 50 pounds;
  • Requires periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
