About the role

Performs a wide variety of complex technical tasks to assist design engineering with applied research, design, development, and testing of high voltage, high power products. Develops skills in research techniques to analyze and validate design or theory concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently from electrical schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans.
  • Assemble and test electrical components and assemblies as well as mechanical assemblies.
  • Work safely with high voltage components in excess of 100V with large energy storage.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of circuitry and troubleshooting to moderate or complex issues.
  • Assist Development Engineers in diagnosing design, field performance, reliability, and test yield issues; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Fault-find down to component level and contribute to design improvements.
  • Use specifications, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
  • Maintain fixturing, perform calibration, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
  • Support Engineering efforts in the design and analysis of systems, products, and subsystems/circuits to meet specification, cost, budget, schedule, and quality goals.
  • Support Engineering programs or projects and related administrative documentation.
  • Play an integral role on Product Design teams to drive designs that meet cost and quality goals.
  • Review product requirements with design staff to ensure compatibility of processing methods.
  • Support Design for Manufacturability analysis.
  • Communicate openly and professionally with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure a safe working environment; resolve or escalate potential hazards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Onsite in Fort Collins, CO. Works in a standard office environment, a noisy fast-paced lab, and/or clean room. Occasional travel may be required to remote sites, customers, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Electro-mechanical problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to operate electrical test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and voltmeters.
  • Read and understand schematics, assembly documents, and technical specifications.
  • Manual soldering skills, including RoHS and fine-pitch components.
  • Knowledge of digital, analog, and power circuits.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel; familiarity with Altium and SolidWorks is a plus.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of related technical/engineering experience.
  • High School Degree or equivalent (required).
  • Associate’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (desirable).

Pay

The range of starting pay for this role is $65,000 - $105,000 per year.
