Engineering Technician III (First Shift)

About the role

The Engineering Technician III position is part of Daikin Applied's planned lab expansion, with hiring expected to occur throughout 2026. This role supports a company committed to diversity and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing activities in accordance with standard procedures, test requirements, and the ISO 17025 standard.
• Schedule and perform instrument verification checks and periodic facility maintenance.
• Set up and operate complex laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Identify and report nonconformities and abnormal testing conditions.
• Maintain a clean work area and uphold standards, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain a working knowledge of EH&S safety policies and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory and project teams.
• Obtain necessary certifications such as fork truck training/license, scissor lift training/license, or refrigerant handling certifications.
• Provide mentorship and training to other technicians (senior roles only).
• Improve laboratory activities continuously.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair test units and facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in HVAC&R or related experience.
• Experience related to mechanical test lab or field service (preferred).
• Fork truck training/license, man lift training/license, universal card, or R410a card (preferred).
• Mentorship experience (preferred).

Work Conditions

• Regular lifting and moving up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting and moving up to 35 pounds.
• Close, distance, and peripheral vision required.
• Standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to work at heights.

Daikin Applied does not sponsor visas for this position. The typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.65 to $50.77 in Minnesota. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
