Overview
Works on BQM-177A Aerial targets and various types of electronic equipment, ordnance and related devices.
Responsibilities
- Removing, installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, equipment testing and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
- Applying general knowledge and judgement to solve problems in determining work sequence and selecting tools and testing equipment.
- Maintaining associated support equipment, repairs, inspections, troubleshooting, preparing or applying maintenance specifications, standards or procedures using provided Technical Publications.
- Launch/recovery and decontamination of the BQM-177A and maintenance on aerial target mechanical/electrical systems.
- Training to participate in functions beyond normal operations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience performing stated functions.
- Ability to travel 20-30% of the year, from one to six weeks at a time.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Passport and DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid state driver’s license, Commercial Driver License is a plus.
- All candidates will be required to pass random drug testing.
Skills
- Proper tools and their uses (IE… volt meters, power tools, simple hand tools).
- Installs electronic components following predetermined methods and criteria.
- Adjust, repair and modify system using Naval and industry publications which include maintenance procedures, diagrams, schematics and local Standard Operating Procedures.
- Remove and or replaces malfunctioning units as directed.
- Setup and operate standard electronic testing equipment.
