Roles & Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician I/II role is an entry-level position within the Electronic Security Systems team, offering individuals an opportunity to gain foundational experience in the field. This role plays a crucial part in assisting senior technicians with various tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electronic security systems.

  • Aid in the installation of electronic security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control panels, and intrusion detection sensors.
  • Aid in the setup and configuration of security equipment according to project specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance activities on installed security systems to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic system issues, under the guidance of senior technicians.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An active DoD Secret Clearance or successfully undergo a Background Investigation, and Drug Screen.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Travel up to 50% to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics or related fields.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate task execution.
  • Eagerness to learn and commitment to maintaining quality workmanship.
  • Basic understanding and experience with Basic Hand tools.

Desired Qualifications

  • Tower Climbing experience/certification.
  • Forklift/Boom operator experience/certification.
  • Fiber Optic Certification(s).
  • Experience with Navy Shore Platform Installation Handbook.
  • Knowledge of Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) physical security system Access Control Enforcer (ACE) and its integration with ACS.
  • Understanding of DMP systems.
  • Manufacturer certifications if required (Avigilon, Axis, DMP, Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, Galaxy, FLIR, and Pelco).
  • Install, program, and document ACS/IDS/CCTV equipment, cable conveyance, antennas and supporting systems.
  • Communication/Low Voltage Equipment rack and supporting system peripheral installations.
  • Installation of overhead or under-floor infrastructure (Conduit, EMT, Schedule 40) and low voltage cabling.
  • Proficiency in using basic tools and various low voltage testing equipment.
