About the Role
Engineering technicians perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, supporting production technicians in maintaining efficient operations. They must possess strong electrical and mechanical skills and be capable of acquiring licenses required for working with boilers, refrigeration, and other equipment. Technicians must be adaptable, willing to rotate job assignments, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment. Proficiency in SAP and competency in activities affecting product safety, legality, and quality are required.
Responsibilities
- Performs assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
- Performs scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
- Responds to and corrects equipment stoppage or mechanical breakdown, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Repairs or replaces worn/defective parts, motors, control devices, etc.
- Operates machine shop equipment, hand tools, power hand tools, and fabricates required parts.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area.
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety and work rules.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervision, including adherence to work schedules and attendance policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency plus a minimum of 9/12 months of vocational/technical certification courses.
- Equivalent military training, other related technical training, or two or more years of college education may substitute for vocational/technical training.
- Completion of AIB maintenance engineering course or similar technical training is acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of experience as a Technician and/or formal training or experience.
- Experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); welding; electronics; electrical repairs; industrial equipment installations; alignment; start-up repairs; etc.
Skills
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
- Proficiency in SAP for data input, retrieval, and reporting.
- Aptitude and desire for continued training due to technological advancements.
- Flexibility and adaptability to rotate job assignments.
