Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Engineering Technician to join our 2nd Shift team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in York, SC.

About the Role

Ensures Safety: By stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately, you'll help maintain a safe working environment. Compliance and Reporting: Your adherence to HSE standards and prompt reporting of any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards will ensure regulatory compliance and a safer workplace. Promote Safety Culture: Using appropriate personal protective equipment and promoting interdependence by looking out for colleagues will foster a culture of safety. Environmental Stewardship: Recognizing and minimizing the negative impact of your work on the environment will contribute to sustainable practices. Quality Assurance: Applying high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship, and performing quality inspections will ensure the delivery of high-quality products. Maintenance Excellence: Supporting equipment uptime and performing preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities will enhance operational efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Working with peers to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and participate in continuous improvement activities will drive process enhancements. Effective Communication and Teamwork: Communicating effectively with your team and participating in training and development will support a collaborative and skilled workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Safety: Stop work and report major injury hazards immediately.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
  • Ability to learn and interpret department specific systems (Cubix, ShopTech, etc.).
  • Ability to learn and understand assembly line processes.
  • Ability to determine root cause to line issues and to fix and or elevate to the next level through proper channels.
  • Understanding of the process of dressing an axle is a plus (Welding, installing brakes, hubs, oil etc).

Skills

  • Skilled in performing manufacturing activities.
  • Capable of using appropriate tools, machinery, and specialty equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in safety protocols and practices.
  • Ability to learn and apply new systems and processes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Base Rate: $23.90 - $29.89/hr Shift Premium: $.50/hr
