Engineering Technician - 2nd Shift
Eaton’s PDCA Power Distribution Control Assembly division in El Paso is seeking an Engineering Technician for the 2nd shift. The hours for this role are 3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. with an hourly rate of $25/hr plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential.
About the role
The Engineering Technician assists production with assemblies by applying diverse technical principles and practices. You will interpret mechanical and subassembly drawings, 3-D models, and Bills of Materials for complex manufacturing assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Examine 3-D models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor or other software to assist during the manufacturing process.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical designs meet product/assembly specifications.
- Check work to confirm compliance with plant Quality Standards.
- Apply knowledge of standards (ANSI, NEMA, UL, CSA, etc.) applicable to assigned products.
- Analyze and interpret design standards, including tolerance and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure manufacturing details, reference documents, and updates are clear for acceptance, operation, or performance of components.
- Prepare information for efficient material procurement, manufacturing, and installation of assemblies.
- Review and understand product structure bills of material related to the manufacturing process.
- Maintain contact with manufacturing personnel to discuss modifications, adjustments, and progress.
- Support Eaton Lean Systems, Eaton Quality Systems, MESH, and Pro Launch for certification and performance.
- Support plant process changes via the Change Management Process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience OR a degree in a technical discipline.
- Ability to read engineering drawings (mechanical, electrical, and schematics) and understand CAD/drafting principles.
- Experience working with electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Must reside within 50 miles of El Paso, TX (no relocation provided).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Qualifications
- 3–4 years of experience in an electrical manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Experience with electrical switchgears, switchboards, or motor control centers (preferred).
- Associate degree in Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) (preferred).
Skills
- Proficiency with Eaton systems/tools: AS-400, POM, Inventor, DA (Design Automation), Bid Manager, Enovia, and DMM.
- Knowledge of Eaton’s internal quality policies and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills for conflict resolution and employee development.
- Ability to work in unstructured and ambiguous environments.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering methods.
- Expertise in design software (CAD), Inventor, and engineering tools.
Pay
$25/hr plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. (2nd shift).
