About the role
The Engineering Technician leads the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. This is a fully onsite role on the 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Maintains, repairs, installs, replaces, or rebuilds a diverse range of industrial manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Programs, edits, troubleshoots, and wires logical controllers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and components on production machines and related equipment.
- Troubleshoots, tests, repairs, and calibrates various types of electrical, electronic, and induction heating equipment.
- Handles maintenance and repair of electrical systems for both facility and production equipment, including wiring in accordance with code.
- Safely operates the articulated boom and scissor lift, ascends stairs, and works on elevated mezzanines.
- Evaluates control systems, products, components, and applications.
- Evaluates new manufacturing and control technologies, adapting into specifications as appropriate.
- Confirms control system functionality, including appropriate safety compliance, by designing and/or executing test procedures.
- Prepares and/or reviews electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers.
- Ensures integrity of process and build data collection.
- Provides information to manufacturing, process, and other engineering disciplines by answering questions and requests.
- Keeps equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
- Maintains project documents using approved methodology, tools, and templates.
- Manages supplier development and delivery.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably as an industrial electrician or controls technician.
- Experience working in a union manufacturing environment within the automotive industry.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and control diagrams.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Schedule
Second Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
