Duties/Responsibilities

  • Field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
  • Maintaining required certifications (ACI, ICC, NCDOT).
  • Coordinating with clients and Project Managers.
  • Travel to client facilities as needed.
  • Report writing and computer skills.
  • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
  • Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the PM.
  • Aids higher level technicians on complex tasks.
  • Maintains assigned equipment and related calibration.
  • Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
  • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Education/Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of construction materials testing experience.
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification (Required).
  • ICC certifications (preferred).
  • State DOT certifications (preferred).
  • A strong safety focus and attention to detail.
  • Excellent plan reading skills.
  • A demonstrated math and technical aptitude.
  • Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking on uneven ground on construction sites.
  • The ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
