Engineering Technician (Engineer-in-Training), Roads + Highways
About the Role
Our Las Vegas, NV office is seeking an Engineering Technician (Engineer-in-Training) with technical knowledge in roadway and highway design. This comprehensive role includes design or design support, developing contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates. Design elements may include geometrics, cross-section, grading drainage, trackwork, utility relocations, drainage, traffic control, and other hardscape.
Responsibilities
- Act as an engineer-in-training for aviation, utility, and transportation-related projects; responsible for the successful completion of project tasks.
- Serve as a key member of the project team, performing analysis and developing engineering design solutions with manager direction and guidance.
- Work closely with project managers and project engineers to establish and execute production work plans.
- Assist project managers and the Transportation Services Manager in providing input to establish contract budgets and scopes of work.
- Assist the project team in the analysis, design, and production of plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Ensure proper codes and standards are applied on projects.
- Complete field assignments to locate existing features and conditions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- 2 years of related design experience is a plus.
- Fluent in the use of design and analysis software (MicroStation InRoads, AutoCAD Civil3D, etc.).
- Experience in project delivery with line-item bid.
- Ability to assist in the preparation of comprehensive engineering reports.
- Successful experience delivering transportation design tasks.
- Experience with transit agencies, local agencies, and municipality procedures, specifications, and special provisions is preferred.

Pay
Base compensation range of $62,000 - $93,500 annually for this position, with adjustments based on local market conditions. The final offer reflects each candidate’s unique skills, experience, education, and competencies.
